THEORETICAL BASICS AND PRACTICAL IMPLEMENTATION

Based on my many years of experience as a test manager in software testing and test management for different industries and companies, I would like to support you in deepening your understanding of software testing and test management.

TEST MANAGEMENT AND SOFTWARE TESTING

The book “Test Management and Software Testing” provides specific tips for the successful implementation of software testing and efficient test management. In doing so, the author combines theoretical principles with operational reality for application in practice. Guidance is provided on the challenges in software testing, where pitfalls exist, and what to consider to avoid them.

METRICS FOR TEST REPORTING

The book presents test variables and metrics that can be used to vividly depict software development progress in the context of software testing and to easily identify the need for action. Key performance indicators and index values for successful reporting – also for management – are explained in detail. They may vary depending on the issue, project scope, or project status. This practical guide is aimed primarily at employees in IT projects, but also at business and technology consultants.

STRATEGY, PLANNING AND ORGANIZATION OF TEST PROCESSES:

The book provides specific tips for the successful organization of software testing. Because: Planning and design in advance are essential for successful test projects. Setting the right course prevents problems right from the start and identifies the need for action in software testing. In addition to theoretical basics, this work shows the implementation in practice and deals with typical problems. Frank Witte explains the decisive aspects to be considered in the test concept to optimally support and accompany the test process.

CONCEPTION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF AUTOMATED SOFTWARE TESTS:

Concrete assistance is offered for the successful implementation of test automation in the operational environment. The book discusses the different forms and characteristics of test automation, its risks and its use in operational practice.

The effects on other areas (e.g. requirements management, release management, development) as well as current trends are examined. The book also contains a cost-effectiveness calculation for test automation, explanations of possible metrics as well as the evaluation of test automation using process maturity models.
